Newmai News Network Imphal | October 30 Jwalamukhi Battalion of the Senapati Brigade, Red Shield Division apprehended two “UTP insurgents” from Ekban village, Kangpokpi district on October 26. According to the PIB, Defence Wing, the cadres admitted to involving in extortions. Identified as Mangboi Misao (24 years) and Seitinlal Lhouvum (34 years), both hailing from Motbung village, Kangpokpi, the duo was handed over to the Saparmaina Police Station. One country made 9mm pistol, one magazine and one live round was recovered from their possession. On October 24, one K Vanhlir (35 years) of Saikot village, Churachandpur was apprehended with a 9mm pistol by a joint team of the Assam Rifles and the police. As per the PIB, Defence Wing, the individual admitted to supplying arms to Manipur insurgents. He was handed over to the police for further investigation, it added.
