Two held for fishing at Intanki National Park
Peren, January 19 (MExN): The Intanki National Park has issued a warning against illegal entry, fishing and hunting inside the Park.
The Field Director in a press release informed of the arrest of two persons by the Forest Protection Force on January 16. Identified as Monos and Azang, the offenders were found fishing with battery/inverter in different locations along the Mangleu River bordering the Intanki National Park, the release stated. They were later released after signing a bond agreeing not to commit the same offence again. However, all the articles were confiscated.
The release further informed that the protection force will enforce a total check on people entering inside the National Park without permission from the concerned higher authorities. In order to cover the entire area of the park while intensifying patrolling duties, the two Ranges ‘A’ and ‘B’ are bifurcated along with its protection force, the release added.
In spite of imposing restriction order which were published in local papers, information about secret entry for hunting, fishing are being noticed, the Director stated and added that more protection forces have been deployed to intensify daily patrolling routine to prevent trespassing.
Seriously viewing the violation of the restriction order, the Field Director cautioned the public in general and the fringe villagers in particular to comply with the restriction order. “Whosoever undermines this warning is doing so at their own risk for which offenders will be self responsible,” the director maintained cautioning that the protection force on patrolling duties have been given orders to the extent of shooting if anyone is found violating the restriction order inside the National Park.
