TSEMINYU, JUNE 5 (MExN): An Integrated Health Campaign along with a sensitisation programme on the HIV/AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017 was launched at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall, Tseminyu on June 4.
The programme was organised by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) in collaboration with the District Integrated Strategy for HIV/AIDS (DISHA), Kohima.
Deputy Commissioner Tseminyu, Japheth Woch, delivered the welcome address and stressed the need for greater public awareness and community participation in health initiatives.
Chairing the programme, Vituozolie Kuotsu, District ICTC Supervisor, DISHA Kohima, highlighted the importance of collective efforts in addressing HIV/AIDS-related issues.
Dr Bernice D Thapru, Joint Director (Prevention), NSACS, presented an overview of the Integrated Health Campaign, following which the campaign was formally launched by the Deputy Commissioner.
During the programme, District Programme Officer, DISHA Kohima, Sentimongla Tsudir spoke on the role of community participation in strengthening the HIV response.
A session on the HIV/AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017 was conducted by Asangla Walling, Panel Lawyer, Kohima District Legal Services Authority, who explained the legal rights and protections available to persons affected by HIV/AIDS.
The programme concluded with an interactive discussion and closing remarks by Metevinuo Sakhrie, Joint Director (IEC & MS), NSACS.
