Tuli, June 25 (MExN): An Integrated Tribal Development Program (ITDP) was inaugurated by NABARD in collaboration with Community Educational Centre Society (CECS) in Tuli, Mokokchung on June 22. The programme supports 200 tribal families for development of fishery and poultry along with banana and tapioca plantation.
The ITDP aims to promote economic empowerment, bring individual farmers as whole and promote sustainable livelihood for the communities through the establishment and support of fish farming, stated a press release received here.
The inaugural took place at FRMCA Hall, Tuli, Mokokchung district. It was graced by Tiakala Ao GM, NABARD and it was flagged off by launching fingerlings at Aopenzu, Tuli. Informing that the Fishery Project in Tuli is the first ever project supported by NABARD in Nagaland, the GM said she expects the beneficiaries to bring fruitful outcome of the project.
CECS Director, Subonenba Longkumer in his keynote address encouraged the farmers not just to be monotonous farmers but should diligently work hard for self-sustainability.
The programme was presided by Alino, SHG member, Short speech were presented by Nungshimatong SDO (civil) Tuli, Shri Temjentoshi SDAO, Agri Tuli ,Chairman village council Kangtsung and vote of thanks by P Mangyang (Beneficiary). The programme concluded by distribution of fish net to the fish farmer beneficiaries.
