Zunheboto, June 28 (MExN): District Health Society (DHS) Zunheboto launched Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) at New Colony Prayer Fellowship, Zunheboto and across all health units in the district on June 27. 

A press note from the CMO office Zunheboto, Media Officer stated that IDCF is organized with an objective to attain zero number of child death due to diarrhoea and aims to create mass awareness about the most effective and low-cost diarrhoea treatment— a combination of Oral Rehydration Salt (ORS) solution and Zinc tablets.

Dr J Hokugha Sema, DVBO & DSO Zunheboto in a short speech spoke on the key actions and prevention on diarrhoea. He stressed on the importance and use of ORS and Zinc during diarrhoeal episodes among children and assured that it is a safe treatment which makes the child recovers from diarrhoea faster.

In the keynote address, Rosemary Vitoli, DPM (NHM) Zunheboto gave an overview on IDCF from June 27 till July 11 across all health units in the district. 

During the fortnight, availability of ORS and Zinc to be distributed to children along with their mothers/care-givers suffering from diarrhoea and demonstration on preparation of homemade ORS and awareness on prevention of diarrhoea to parents/caregivers at all health units. 

Longleng: Training of Trainers on Anemia Mukt Bharat-cum-launching of IDCF (Intensified Diarrhea Control Fortnight) was conducted at CMO conference hall, Longleng on June 27. 

CMO Longleng, Dr Obangjungla delivered the welcome note while Dr Meren Phom, District Program Officer, Longleng launched the IDCF and gave orientation on Anemia Mukt Bharat. 

The programme was attended by CMO, DPO, Medical Officers, CHOs, ANMs and GNMs of all the health units Block Program Managers, Block ASHA Coordinators DPM, and District Community Mobilizer, the Media Officer, CMO office Longleng stated in a press release. 

Various PHCs CHCs and Sub Center of Longleng district on the account of IDCF created awareness and also distributed ORS and Zinc tablets.
