Intensive training on organic farming

Aboi, March 9 (MExN): A three-day intensive training on organic farming was conducted at KVK conference hall, Aboi, Mon from March 3 to 6. Imtinuksung, Subject Matter Specialist (Soil Conservation) and Puchono Kweho, SMS (Agronomy) were the resource persons.  

Various activities like Farmer-Scientist interaction, video shows, method demonstrations on application of liming and treatment of seeds and soil with bio-fertilizers were carried out in the field.  

The resource persons also dwelled on various topics like vermicomposting, bio-fertilizers, and green manuring. On the last day, the participants visited the KVK instructional farm, where they were highlighted on the various ongoing activities in the farm.  

Altogether, 80 farmers from Ngangching, Aboi, Chinglong, Langmeang villages attended the 3-day training. Dr. Rukuovilie Mezhatsu, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Mon in a press release stated that the programme concluded with distribution of seeds and bio-fertilizers.
