Wokha, July 2 (MExN): Intensive training on piggery farming under Livelihood Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) was held at Wokha for the “matured” SHG members from June 20 to 28. Altogether 68 participants from 14 SHGs attended the training which was sponsored by NABARD RO Dimapur.
A press release issued by Lanchibemo Tsopoe; Chairman, Mass Educational Welfare Society, Wokha stated that modern and scientific breeding of pigs were taught for six days at MEWS Training Hall and a practical class was held at Pig Breeding Centre Wokha on the seventh day of the training. The resource persons were Dr N Morothung Ezung (VAS), Dr Zuchamo Tongoe(SRF), Benrithung Lotha (SVFA),Shongmao Khumungyan (VFA), Yantsomo Ezung (Progressive Piggery Farmer) and Khomesa Odyuo (Community Resource Person).
The next two batches will be held at Meriyan Village from July 2, the release added.
