Dimapur, November 27 (MExN): The first inter-school debate was held at Hollotoli School, Dimapur with an aim to promote debating skills amongst the youth and provide them a forum to express their opinions regarding current issues, a press release informed.
Nine schools, namely G. Rio School (Kohima), Delhi Public School (Dimapur), Holy Cross School (Dimapur), Maple Tree School (Dimapur), Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School (Dimapur), Little Star Hr. Sec. School (Dimapur), Bosco Hr. Sec. School (Dimapur), Sainik School Punglwa, Hollotoli School (Dimapur) participated in the debate held on the topic ‘Are we using social networking sites effectively?’
The judges for the debate were Ass. Prof Wapangla Imchen, Ass. Prof Anjan Behera, Ass. Prof Mhonthung Lotha. Meanwhile, the chief guest was Brigadier K.G.A Kamal Dev, Chief Signal Officer.
Vinivi Wotsa and Yansaromo J Patton from Delhi Public School (Dimapur) emerged as winners of the debate, while Gilgal Ikror Horam and Atolimi S. Sumi from Hollotoli School were the first runner-up and Erenbeni Humtsoe and Sunjemyanger Imchen from Holy Cross School were the second runner-up. The best interceptor was Erenbeni Humtsoe from Holy Cross School.
