Medziphema, December 8 (MExN): The first Inter-Ward Football League Tournament of Medziphema Town began at Local Ground, Medziphema on December 8 where Zhaleo Rio, IAS (Retd), Advisor, Sericulture, Excise & Minority Affairs, graced the inaugural ceremony as Special Guest.
A total of 11 teams are participating in the tourney which will culminate on December 16, stated a press release received here.
Speaking at the function, Zhaleo urged sportsmen to “play with professionalism and not to pass time" because there is enormous scope in games and sports. On election process scheduled next year, Rio stated that “elections will come with or without solution.”
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Mhiesikedo Krose, Information & Publicity Secretary, MTYO, while Matsung Lemtor, Pastor, Eastern Naga Baptist Church, Medziphema pronounced invocation and Kepe Nakhro, President, MTYO, delivered welcome speech. Thejaseno Dolie presented a special number and Rokokholie Sothu, Games & Sports Secretary, MTYO, administered the oath to players.
