Kohima, July 14 (MExN): The 9 Assam Rifles organised an interaction between Commandant 9 Assam Rifles and goan burhas and Chairman of 15 villages of Chiephobozou Sub Division on July 13. The villages include Chiephobozou, Chiechama, New Chiechama, Pheza, Botsa, Old Gariphema, New Gariphema, Nachama, Tuophema, Teichuma, Old Seiyhama, New Seiyhama, Sendenyu, Nerhema and Model village.
Col C Konwer, PRO (Defence) in a press release stated that the interaction focused on “present security situation, issues of forceful taxation and ways to further enhance cooperation between security forces and villagers.”
The members of the villages attended the meeting with great enthusiasm and appreciated the efforts made by the Assam Rifles in maintaining peaceful environment in the region. During interaction valuable suggestions were brought out to further improve the relationship between both the security forces and general population.
At the end both parties vowed to stand together to work for long lasting peace and prosperity in the region.
