Intermingle club clinched their maiden Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) Trophy on October 27 with a clinical 1-0 win over Zonipang SA.
Opanglemzung scored the decisive goal in the 45th minute, two minutes before the first half whistle, and the Intermingle players held on the advantage until the end.
In the stirring final match, Intermingle Club players dispalyed some great footballing skills to help the team with their maiden win.
The second half of the final match saw some fast passes and goal attempts from the defending champions, Zonipang SA. But they could not get a breakthrough, eventually ceding the title to Intermingle Club.
Sakutemjen Ao of Intermingle Club was cautioned with a yellow card in the early 12th minute of the game while another player from club, Lipoksashi was also given a yellow card in last minute of the first half.
Two more yellow cards were given to Suponglemba and Alemmatsung of Zonipang SA as the match grew intense and a little frustrating for defending champions in the second half. In an extra 3 minutes of stoppage time, Sakutemjen Ao of Intermingle Club was sent off with a red card. However, it was too late to make any impact as the final whistle of the MDFA Trophy 2018 blew in favour of Intermingle Club.
Nagaland Minister for Public Works Department, Tongpang Ozüküm, the Chief Match Patron, gave away the prizes during the prize distribution ceremony.
Intermingle Club received a cash award of two lakh rupees along with certificates and a running trophy while Zonipang SA won a one lakh rupees and certificates.
