Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): The Franciscan Sisters of St Mary of the Angels (FSMA) celebrated the International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPwD) at Angel Home with special children and their parents at Signal Angami, Dimapur.
Sister Tejohonu welcomed the gathering while Rev Fr Jenson the Rector of St Vincent’s Seminary led the gathering into prayer. In his message, Rev Fr Jenson encouraged the parents not to give up hope but believe in the abilities of their children.
Sister Riya explained the types of disabilities and shared that they are amazing in their own ways and parents should see the abilities of the children and help them to develop it.
Some short video clips of persons with disabilities who achieved their goals were shown to inspire the parents and encourage the children to achieve their goals in life.
On the occasion the Angel Home also acknowledged the parents for taking care of the special children with great dedication. The parents of the children also shared their experiences with each other. The event was translated by Lilongla.
