International District Governor visits Lions Club of Kohima

Kohima, November 2 (MExN): The Lions Club of Kohima hosted a visitation by Lions International District Governor Lalit Kumar Kothari at Hotel Ura, Kohima, on October 30. 

The event was attended by senior Lions officials, including First Vice District Governor Neena Dutta, GST Coordinator Lion Neeta Agarwal, Zone VIII Chairperson Lion Sanjay Thapa, and First Vice President of the Lions Club of Akukuto, Lion Vinika Zhimomi.

During the programmer, new members Medophrie Kire, Kenie Whourie, Akhrienuo Kire, and Atha were formally inducted into the Club. 

Ketoukholie Whourie and Max Marius Menuose-o also took their Oath of Induction, having missed a previous ceremony, as per a press release. 

At the event, the District Governor Kothari highlighted the Club’s growth, humanitarian initiatives, and community engagement. 

He encouraged members to continue expanding their outreach and commended the leadership for promoting unity within the Lions family in Kohima.

Club President Oken Jeet Sandham expressed gratitude to the District Governor and outlined the Club’s proposal to establish a Lions Eye Hospital in Kohima, with one member donating land for the project. District Governor Kothari welcomed the proposal and assured follow-up on the matter.

The programme included a Secretarial Report by Kaikho Dawman, introductions of dignitaries by Menuose-o, an Invocation by Meren Paul, and memento presentations by Whourie.

The event concluded with a fellowship session, providing members the opportunity to interact with the District Governor and senior Lions officials.
