DIMAPUR, AUGUST 20 (MExN): The Department of Information Technology, School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University started a week long International Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Advances in Machine Learning, Image Processing, and Natural Language Processing on  August 16. 

The program was presided by Professor Vijay Kumar Vidyarthi, Dean, NU-SET and inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Professor Jagadish Kumar Patnaik. 

In his speech, Professor Jagadish Kumar Patnaik appreciated the concerned department for organizing such FDP for the first time in the School of Engineering and Technology. He also urged the Department of IT and CSE, NU to develop projects for digitizing the functioning of the Nagaland University in administration, academics, examinations, finance etc. Professor Sujata Dash, Convener of the FDP introduced the resource persons and addressed the participants from India and abroad. 

She stressed that the FDP marks a significant step towards harnessing the potential of machine learning, image processing, and natural language processing, which have emerged as pivotal fields in today's technological landscape.
