
Dimapur, August 26 (MExN): District Health Society Phek has conducted two days training of health workers on interpersonal communication for focus group discussion at the village level at CMO Conference hall on August 25 and 26, 2011. Block Program Manager, Health Educator, Staff nurse and Asha coordinator from all the blocks attended the program.
Medical Superintendent Dr. P.Tia, graced the function and exhorted the trainees on the importance of IPC in special reference to the effectiveness of counseling at the grass root level to take preventive measures against all health minus. The resource persons were Tarep Longchar, Dy.MEIO and Keneingutuo Whuorie, District Program Manager. Dy. MEIO stressed on the IPC intervention in family planning, maternal and child health. DPM spoke on the IPC and its types and methods with emphasis on FGD and deliberated on ‘Reproductive Tract Infection’ and ‘Sexually Transmitted Infection’ and ‘Universal Immunization Program’. The program concluded with vote of thanks from Kutolu Nakro, Media Officer.
