Peren, May 31 (MExN): With an aim to boost awareness and expose the farmers to new ideas of agricultural practises, ATMA Peren undertook a farmer’s exposure tour to Gangtok, Sikkim from May 11 to 15. The team was led by Two Deputy Project Director’s of ATMA Peren. The team visited various experimental farms at ICAR KVK Institute such as horticulture farm, medicinal plants, piggery farm, Goatery farm, Poultry farm, Maize farm, Cardamom farm, Kiwi farm & Off Season Crop such as Radish, Carrot, & Beet root, where the experts explained scientific methods of cultivation and its advantages followed by an interaction with the scientist. Apart from field visits, the team also visited Seven Point View and tourist places such as flower show, Handicrafts exhibition, Ropeway, Museum and Sales in Gangtok for recreational purpose. The exposure trip was quite a learning experience for all the participants and also had an incidental value of entertainment and sightseeing.
