
Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): In remembrance of people who died of drug use and alcoholism, the International Remembrance Day was observed at Kripa Foundation, D Block DIC conference hall on July 21. The programme was attended by a group of drug users, alcoholics, and well wishers from various districts of Nagaland.
Highlights of the programme include lighting of a candle to signify the presence of the departed soul in the midst. Jim from Kohima Users Network shared his personal testimony on his journey to recovery and the problems he faced during his addiction days. He also remembered his friend who had passed away due to drug use. A Special memorial song was presented by Toshi was dedicated to all those who passed away and significant of the day was shared by Abou Mere Chair, Indian Drug users Forum (IDUF). He cited that the remembrance day was initiate by international networks of people who use drugs and has begin to observed the day at the international level.
This programme was jointly organized by Nagaland Users Network, Kohima Users Network and Kripa foundation. The memorial service ended with the recitation of the addicts’ prayer.
