Invalidate teachers result, says PACSU to govt

Dimapur, June 5 (MExN): The Pungro Area College Students Union (PACSU) has issued a representation to the Commissioner & Secretary, Government of Nagaland, School Education & SCERT to ‘invalidate’ the recently declared G/T and P/T result. The representation issued to the media was appended by Lentsuba, president PACSU and Pusukhong, general secretary PACSU.

PACSU in the representation stated that a series of consultations and deliberations took place among the Yimchunger, Sangtam, and Sumi tribes of Tuensang district during the bifurcation of Kiphire district when the present government came into power in the year 2003.  As such, the point of agreement which has been reduced into written in the form of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the same duly signed by five MLAs representing the Yimchungers and Sangtams along with the representatives of Yimchunger Tribal Council, the United Likhum Buumji and the Tuensang District Sumi Hoho, the present Kiphire district was created.

In the same MoU, amongst others, at paragraph 10 & 11, PACSU stated that it is clearly mentioned that 30% of Gr. IV post shall be reserved for landowners and the remaining to be shared among the three tribes on population ratio. “Yet MoU seems to be a dead letter as the concerned authorities are clandestinely giving appointment without any regard to the MoU, either through political favoritism or due to some extraneous consideration”, PACSU alleged in the representation letter.

The Union also claimed that in the recently concluded teachers’ recruitment under SDEO and DEO Kiphire has been done in most arbitrary and illegal way adding that as against 85 G/T only 13 and only 18 against 62 P/T Yimchunger candidates respectively were selected. PACSU also felt it pertinent to mention that the Yimchungers are being sidelined and neglected without any regard to the government notification on local preference in the matter of appointments.

“We therefore being aggrieved and discriminated appeal your benign authority to invalidate the recently declared G/T and P/T result to deliver us justice without any delay lest we be compelled to resort our own course of action even to the extent of preventing the joining report(s) within the Yimchunger areas in Kiphire district” stated PACSU in the note.
