IO-AOD constructs drinking water facility and solar lights at Thahekhu

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility, the Indian Oil, Assam Oil Division (IO-AOD), Guwahati constructed water drinking facility and solar street lights at Thahekhu village which was inaugurated by Dipankar Ray, Executive Director, IO-AOD, Guwahati on Tuesday.  

Speaking after inaugurating the twin projects, Ray said, as a corporate body, the India Oil taking up such projects enriches itself and reinforces the company’s conviction towards its responsibility to the society.  

“While constructing such projects for the people, we rather thanked the community for giving us the opportunity to play our part towards community development,” he said. Ray said such projects were a part of the company’s corporate plan and had adopted Thahekhu village adding, “Adopting a village means the company will continue to carry out similar projects in the village.”  

Exhorting the gathering, Parliamentary Secretary for Economics & Statistics, Tovihoto Ayemi who is also a resident of Thahekhu village thanked the Indian Oil Corporation for carrying out the twin projects in the village and expressed the hope that more projects would follow in the future.  

“These two projects were the much needed facility of the village and I thank the company for completing the projects on the ground,” he added.  

Head GB Thahekhu Village, Hukiye Yeptho also thanked the company for implementing the projects and added that the village will continue to be grateful to the Indian Oil Corporation for the initiative.  

A host of officials of Indian Oil Corporation, ex-Minister, Hewoto Awomi, village leaders and elders attended the inaugural programme.
