Mon, May 17 (MExN): Dialysis Unit at District Hospital in Mon was inaugurated by Mon Deputy Commissioner Wennyei Konyak on May 15. The unit was funded by the Indian Oil Company (IOC).
During the event, Dr Aman Konyak, Medical Superintendent DH, Mon informed that the new dialysis unit will have three beds and four machines, managed by a surgeon, qualified nurses, and a technician. He commended the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland for taking the effort, and expressed gratitude to the IOC.
The DC Mon stated that the availability of vital renal care for Mon residents will significantly cut down on patient travel to Dimapur. He also stated that there will be a high volume of patients because of the high prevalence of chronic kidney disease.
The DC Mon also assured to provide any assistance the center would require in the near future and urged the staff members in charge to utilize the facility to its fullest potential for the community.
A dedication prayer was offered by YP David Konyak, Chaplain District Hospital. The programme was attended by KU, KNSK, SP, CMO, and staffs of DH.
