In a noble gesture, the I.O.C & Kumlong Taxi Unit, Mokokchung today donated three wooden benches to the Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) today for use at the hospital.
The IOC & Kumlong Taxi Unit which plies taxies from Kumlong Ward- Mokokchung town through the Mariani road is one of the most active taxi units which cater to hundreds of commuters every day.
Today’s gesture towards the IMDH by the taxi unit was undertaken as part of the social initiatives which the unit undertakes from time to time under the theme - In the service of the people. The Taxi Unit expressed hope that the benches which they donated would help the patients and the attendants who seek medical care at the hospital.
Formally receiving the benches on behalf of the IMDH, the MS Dr Medem expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Taxi Unit for the kind gesture.
“This is a great example for others to emulate, and I am sure that this kind of noble work would open the eyes and heart of many people,” said Dr Medem.
IMDH is one of the only government run hospital in Mokokchung town and this healthcare institution caters to hundreds of patients every year not only from Mokokchung district but also from the neighboring districts like Tuensang, Zunheboto, Longleng etc. Over the years, different groups, organizations and individuals have been contributing in their own ways towards the hospital; this latest donation of the three benches is the latest of such public contributions towards the growth of the hospital.
