KOHIMA, JUNE 19 (MExN): Eight Multi-Media Mobile Vehicles were flagged off by Advisor IPR & Soil & Water Conservation Imkong L Imchen at Nagaland Civil Secretariat plaza, Kohima on June 19. The event was organized by the Directorate of Information & Public Relations where eight District Public Relations Officers (DPROs) were hand over the brand new vehicles equipped with multi-media facilities.

According to a DIPR report, Advisor, Imkong L Imchen speaking at the event said the field officers of the IPR department are the nodal officers for various departments and through them, government policies and programs are disseminated to the people. Imkong reminded the officers to function together for one single purpose which is to work toward the upliftment and development of the people.

He also urged the officers to perform their assigned duties diligently and utilize the brand new vehicles and other facilities provided for the service of the people and to disseminate government activities to the remotest part of the state.  Imkong also expressed gratitude to the state government for allocating funds for the Multi-Media Mobile Vehicles.

Director IPR, Dzuvinuo Theunuo sharing briefly on the concept of the project said that department felt the need to place these Multi-Media Mobile Vehicles in the districts and in the directorate as a proactive role in stepping up its activities with the ever-increasing requirements of dissemination of information to the people.

Theunuo stated that the vehicles will cater to broadcasting of various awareness and educational videos, documentaries and other PSAs. Theunuo informed that the vehicles are equipped with projectors and screens, laptops and all-in-one sound systems for easy usage adding that it will help in making announcements and dissemination of information in every part of the state in a timely manner.

She further mentioned that in the first phase, eight districts namely Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire, Longleng, Zunheboto, Mokokchung, Phek and Wokha were covered while the remaining districts including the directorate will be taken up in the current year.

Development Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Justice & Law, R. Ramakrishnan, Secretary, Information & Public Relations, Bhagyashree B. Banayat, and officers and staffs of IPR secretariat and directorate attended the program. The allotted fund was fully utilized for the purpose, the DIPR report stated.
