Dimapur, February 27 (MExN): The second day of a two-day training programme on Disaster Management and Fire Safety was conducted at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur, for officials and staff of the Information & Public Relations (IPR) Department.
The session featured technical presentations on “Role of Media in Disaster Management” and “Basic Fire Safety & Relevant Section of the Nagaland Fire & Emergency Service Act, 2021” delivered by Keren Rose, Assistant Manager, Media & Public Relations, Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, and Kenny Khing, Fire Prevention & Audit Officer, Fire & Emergency Services.
Officials from F&ES and Deputy SP Zhasalie Naprautsu participated alongside IPR staff. The programme highlighted media responsibilities in safeguarding information integrity, coordinating disaster response, and countering misinformation. Fire prevention strategies, safety protocols, legal provisions, and hands-on fire extinguisher demonstrations were also conducted.
