IR personnel conduct cleanliness drive in Kiphire

Two day cleanliness drive cum social work was undertaken by A Coy 14th IR under the leadership of Company Commander N Rio in Kiphire town. During the cleanliness programme, various activities like filling of potholes, cleaning of roadside areas, drainages etc were conducted.  

Company Commander, N Rio stated that this activity was undertaken to commemorate the Unit Raising Day on March 16, to generate awareness about cleanliness and as a gesture on the part of the jawans towards community building in order to foster peace, unity and harmony in the district.  

Further, the Company Commander stated that the jawans voluntarily rendered their services in addition to their regular workload of law and order duties under Kiphire district.  

“The social work by the security personnel has not only given a cleaner look to the town but also passed a message on cleanliness as a social responsibility,” said a vendor seating in the local vegetable market.
