DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 27 (MExN): The office of the 21 Tuli AC Congress Committee 17th Mile Unit, Tuli has lauded the tireless effort made by the IRB personnel’s in executing their assigned responsibility judiciously pointing out that this will bring peaceful atmosphere in Tuli and Kangtsung.
“In connection with the incident on October 16 in Aitlenden Tuli, where five Congress workers were shot at by NPF workers, the IRB swung into action and arrested ten persons and recovered three rifles and one revolver and a country made pistol from their possession on October 26 at around 9:30 pm”, informed a press note issued by I. Onen Ltr, President Kangtsung Unit of 21 Tuli AC Congress Committee and N. Mangyang Jamir, President 17-Mile Tuli Unit.
While appreciating the efforts of the IRB, the statement however stated that it was beyond understanding that the ten apprehended NPF workers who had been arrested along with “illegal hazardous weapons” were released through negotiation between the NPF leaders and IRB officials.
“We thought that they should have booked under the appropriate section of the law of the land for which we would like to know under what condition those criminals were released”, the press note questioned.
Quoting “reliable source”, the statement made known that “more deadly weapons are still available which is the main factor leading to the tense situation in and around Tuli area.
The press note as such requested the concerned authority to keep their efficient work constant so as to maintain peace and prosperity in the trouble torn area.
