IRCS Dimapur organizes Blood Donation Camp

Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): N. Hushili Sema, Deputy Commissioner & Chairperson, IRCS, Dimapur exhorted Dimapurians to donate blood on the occasion of the commemoration of 150 Years of World Red Cross on May 8, 2013 through Blood Donation Camp held at NIIT Dimapur Centre. 

Sharing about her own experience, she expressed her gratitude to the blood donors at Shillong because of whom she is alive. She congratulated each and every blood donor for the yeoman contribution their voluntary deed is making towards the humanity. This was stated in a press note issued by Ajay Sethi, Coordinator IRCS, Dimapur Branch. 

Dr. Sukhato Sema, Additional Director, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland also informed about the need of the society to help the humanity by voluntary blood donation for which Dimapur District Hospital’s  Blood Bank is second only of its kind in North-East.

Earlier, Inaka Assumi, Honorary Secretary, IRCS Dimapur Branch welcomed each and everyone present. Remembering the founder of World Red Cross, Henry Dunant who initiated the movement after the 1st world war, he hoped that Nagaland would have its own such humanitarian for better. Dr. Arihant Jain spoke on behalf of Dr. Temsu, Dimapur Blood bank and his team and clarified on the misconceptions about blood donation. 

Kuldeep Jain, committee member, IRCS Dimapur and ten times blood donor was honored on the occasion. Sharing his initial reluctance about blood donation, he motivated people to donate blood for their own conscience & better health. Committee Member K. K. Paul proposed vote of thanks while Ajay Sethi anchored the program.

IRCS Dimapur expressed gratitude to all 22 donors who donated the blood and seven member team of District Hospital besides all those present on the occasion, in particular Unity College, S. D. Jain Girls College, Holy Cross Higher Secodnary School and team of NIIT Dimapur.
