The Chief Medical Office in Kiphire district organized training for teachers under Kiphire block on iron folic and de-worming programme at IDSP hall on May 10 with Dr Rebecca, Program Officer, UIP as the resource person. The training was attended by more than 20 teachers.
Speaking to the teacher participants, Dr Rebecca said that they should disseminate proper information on time to the students whenever there is information pertaining to health issues. She requested the teachers to work hand in hand with the department and partner with health department.
She informed that the department and staffs has reach out to every school in the district with de-worming tablets along with flex and other information and asked the teachers to make use of that information and provide the tablets to the students in the month of February and August.
She also said that iron folic tablets should be provided to the students since iron is very important for blood and also for healthy mental life and added, “if iron count is low blood count also decreases and asked the teachers to help the society by making use of the tablet provided by the department following proper instruction.”
“Iron folic tablet will also enhance the memory of the students,” Dr Rebecca said and asked the teachers not to miss this activity in respective schools.
In interaction session, Dr Rebecca also gave more details of the importance of using de-worming tablet and Iron folic tablet to the students. She also expressed gratitude to the teaching faculties for making it to the programme.
