• No for the common people, but yes for those who have guns and money power. Most are afraid to speak or express the truth these days about our Naga society.
• No, Undergrounds are the main threat.
• No, we feel the problem specially when we write or express something about the pressure group.
• Absolutely no, we take courage in where political issues does not concern much but shut up when we should be really shouting. We shout for retrieval of soldiers, parade people but whisper on certain issues. Twist an article in the media, or the press is shut down, the owner kidnapped. Open your mouth and eat a bullet. Is that freedom of speech?
• There is none. Because Naga society is under the bondage of gun culture.
• Due to the insurgency problem the undergrounds checking what we speak and harassing those who speak about them
• No, why? 1. Many good articles were not accepted by publisher written by many noble citizens, in the name of Editors prerogative. 2. There is threat from splinter group, threat from unscrupulous state official and state armed forces intelligentsia under the pretext of people movement and containing law order or insurgency.
• No, there is no freedom of speech and expression in our society
• No because one can’t speak or write his/her opinion freely in public for the fear of threats, intimidation, abductions and even executions. In such an atmosphere, freedom of the press plus individuals freedom of speech and expression is totally absent.
Those who voted ‘YES’ had to say:
• Too much! Everyone seems to be expressing his /her views without any restraint or feelings. But, maturity in contentment is sorely suffering
• Yes, especially among the Naga youths today because the right thinking lot has come to accept that their views and expressions can be made known to the society only through their speeches and not through cheap political motivations.
