The All Nagaland Private Schools Association, Wokha Unit, organised an Inter-School Quartet Competition on 30th August 2024, in commemoration of the NBSE Golden Jubilee. The event took place at DBHSS Youth Centre, Wokha, with the panel of judges comprising David Ngullie, Onhyothung Murry (Yuni), Renchilo Lotha, and Mhalo C Kikon.
11schools participated in the competition. Isaiah Ability Higher Secondary School secured first place, followed by Cistus School Wokha in second place, and Santsuo Memorial School in third place. The winner, Isaiah Ability Higher Secondary School School, will represent the district at the state-level Inter-School Quartet Singing Competition, to be held in Kohima during the NBSE Golden Jubilee celebrations.
David Ngullie, Proprietor of Bravo Music Academy, expressed his appreciation to all the schools that participated in the competition. He highlighted that, compared to last year, there has been a significant improvement in presentation, with an increase from 50% to 80%. He praised the preparation and song selection, noting that both were much better than the previous year.
Mhalo C. Kikon, CNY Director of Tchuphyangza Baptist Church also encouraged them to keep shining and to continue progressing in their musical journey. The programme was chaired by Wonjano Khuvung, Headmistress Fernbrook School. The invocation was led by Zuchano Murry Humtsoe, Assistant Teacher, Santsuo School, while the welcome address and presentation were delivered by Rev Dr T.C. Joseph, Principal of DBHSS. The vote of thanks was given by Mhao Murry, Administrator of SMBHS, and the benediction was offered by Tumchobeni Kikon, Assistant Teacher at Isaiah Ability Higher Secondary School.
