Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): In regard to the Independence Day celebration, the Home Commissioner J Alam, IAS has stated that it is the duty of "every government servant to attend the Independence Day function".
The home commissioner in a press note has informed that the I-Day State function will be held at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza where the chief minister Neiphiu Rio will unfurl the National Flag and take the salute.
The note added that for convenient seating arrangement, each department is being allotted separate space in the galleries. Placards will be placed on the allotted space by respective departments for easy identification.
Also, sufficient space will be provided in the galleries for the public. Therefore, the public of Kohima town and nearby villages are invited to come in large numbers and attend the function. Deputy Commissioner of Kohima and Kohima Municipal Council are making necessary transport arrangements for the public, it added.
