Dimapur, December 13 (MExN): Highlighting problems of the present generation, where many people are living under the influence of wealth and riches, Rev. O Alem, Executive Secretary, ABAM made reference of Pope Benedict’s recent comment on global crisis where he said “… money vanishes, it is nothing. All these things that appear to be real are in fact secondary. Only God’s words are a solid reality’’. He said that the same generation has no peace in heart and in soul, no refuge to take protection; people are walking in fear of danger. However, he added that it is God’s wish and desire for man to live in peace for which He sent Jesus to be a channel of peace.
Rev. O Alem was addressing the opening service of Dimapur Ao Baptist Church (DABA) Golden Jubilee celebration on Saturday which will conclude on December 14. “Rebuild your relationship with God,” Rev. O. Alem emphasised to the congregation as he believes ‘rebuilding relationship with man and with God alone can complete the purpose of the Jubilee celebration, which is not man made but from God; God calls every celebration for a purpose.’ Further, he added “Love gives freedom” and there is no harm in forgiving and in sharing love as the new commandment of ‘Love’ is a releasing commandment.
He called upon DABA as a Church to become a church that brings unity and a ray of haven for people to seek release from their bondage of the worldly sufferings. While encouraging on sharing God’s love to redeem someone from evil burdens, Rev. O. Alem said that, ‘our faithful God’ is always ‘readymade.’ All you need to do is call out to Him with faith and in a blink of an eye, He will be your help. Accept and acknowledge that God’s faithfulness is a reality.’ Bringing to conclusion his sermon on ‘Celebrating God’s faithfulness in the church’ Rev. O. Alem said that being able to say ‘Thank You’ is the greatest celebration.
The service started earlier, with an opening presentation by Youth Department DABA, scripture reading and invocation by Rev. P Anung, Pastor, Ao Baptist Church, Diphupar, welcome address by Rev. N Tzudir, Pastor DABA while benediction was said by Kibangwar. I. Wati, Associate Pastor, DABA who was also the chairman of the service.
