NSCN/GPRN Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah today arrived here and expressed gratitude to the Chakhesang people for according him a warm welcome. Addressing the public at Town Hall, the NSCN/GPRN Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah said that he never expected such a warn welcome and thanked the public for giving a warn reception.
He was all praise for the decision of the NNC under the leadership of ‘Uncle’ A.Z. Phizo saying that it took the right decision in the right time that Nagas will decide their own and take decision - that is independent and sovereignty. He also said the declaration of “Nagaland for Christ” is the faith of Nagas and described it as “our guiding principle,” adding we are united in Christ and we cannot disperse from it, adding he believed in God and believed in Nagaland too.
Highlighting the history, he, however said the mistake of the Shillong Accord should not be allowed to continue, adding the national issue must be taken collectively and not as individual decision. He went onto say that the Shillong accord was against that Naga national principle, and said that the Shillong Accord amounted to selling the right of Naga people “totally.”
Muivah also said “God has given us our homeland because he did not want Nagas to be a lost nation,” adding the land that Nagas are living is out of God’s creation and they are master of land given by God. “That is your right,” he said adding that if Nagas cannot catch hold of the land given by God it will be a mistake on the part of Nagas. “Let us not make mistake in making choice,” he said and challenged the people to understand each other so that Nagas come together.
Muivah was appreciative of the GOI for recognizing the unique history and situation of Nagas. He said that Nagas must be united, adding it is opportune time to unite. Muivah also said that in the name of our savior Jesus Christ, reconciliation must be pronounced, adding that from its side it took three days fasting and that proclamation on reconciliation was made. He said that “forgiveness must be there, confession must be there” adding that these are the way for reconciliation.
Muivah asserted that there will be meeting point for Nagas but it has to be through the son of God- Jesus Christ and for which it has taken decision that it must be reconciliation among the Nagas despite of differences in the past. Muivah said that it is ully convinced that through reconciliation there will be unity and solidarity among the Nagas, adding that to do this it must be in the name of God. “Today we are here to preach the gospel of reconciliation among the Nagas,” he said.
He said that there may be differences but there is a need to examine together the past and present and look forward for the future.
He appreciated and respected the Chakhesang people for their contribution towards Naga national cause. He said it is right time for Nagas to understand each other, and challenged the people to understand each other and find the areas to bring unity among the Nagas.
Earlier, the function was chaired by Meyielo Kapfo, convenor, Prominent Citizen Forum, Pfutsero Town while welcome address was given by Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) President Sovenyi .
