Minister for PWD (Roads & Bridges) Y Vikheho Swu said that International Trade Centre (ITC) Pangsha under Noklak sub-division of Tuensang district would be connected with two National Highways.
The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has in principle approved the declare the two new National Highways in the State connecting Pangsha as follows Showuba-Guzunyu-Pughoboto-Zunheboto-Ahubanto-Shamator-Noklak-Pangsha and Gandhi Ashram Chuchuyimlang NH-2 to Pangsha.
Giving the approval in principle on June 13, 2016, the Union MoRTH has however said that it would be subject to outcome of Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation by the Department.
Vikheho revealed this during his visit to ITC Pangsha on Tuesday (June 14) along with Minister for Health & Family Welfare, P. Longon and Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Krosü Rhetso.
While lamenting that the state has been facing lots of problem because of the landowner issue, he said that the government is unable to take many other developmental activities because of landowners’ issue, adding that it is not the fault of the government but Naga people are responsible.
The Minister said likewise the people of the areas where these Highways connecting ITC Pangsha are to cross should not create problem but they need extend support and cooperation to the government.
Meanwhile, the Minister also asserted to look into the request of local elected representative to improve the road condition from Chendang Saddle to Noklak town at the earliest.
