Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): Mokokchung district took the lead in the lawn tennis competition at the ongoing Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024 (NOPG 2024), clinching victories in both Men’s Singles and Doubles, and securing the top spot in the Men’s Team Even
In the Men’s Singles, Mokokchung’s Thejaser took gold by defeating Kepevilie of Chümoukedima in the final. The two losing semifinalists, Azhazo (Wokha) and Megotsolie (Noklak), were awarded bronze.
In the Men’s Doubles, Thejaser, teaming up with Zhaputso, won the gold medal for Mokokchung, defeating Megotsolie and Varuni of Noklak.
The losing semifinalists - Chümoukedima and Phek teams were the bronze winners.
In the Men’s Team Event, Mokokchung’s Thejaser and Zhaputso took home the gold, while Chümoukedima’s Mhalevilie Mhasilhoutuo and Kepevilie won the silver.
Wokha and Niuland teams were the bronze medal winners.
