It’s upto CSOs and church: Patton on NLTP

Morung Express News
Dimapur | November 5

Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton said that Nagaland needs to have a “serious thought” on the contentious Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act. Patton’s comment was in response to a request to the state government to atleast partially relax Prohibition, by a grassroots leader, at a programme on November 5 in Sovima, Chümoukedima.  The Dy CM maintained that the state government would neither call for lifting nor for continuing with the NLTP Act. Rather, he said that it is upto the civil society and the church.  “The government won't say we'll not lift it, but it is upto the civil society, it is upto the church. We need to have a serious thought on this.”
