Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): Toshi Aier, Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner, Nagaland inaugurated the induction training for newly recruited Junior Accounts Assistants (JAAs) under the Directorate of Treasuries & Accounts, Nagaland on April 26 at the Treasuries & Accounts Training Institute, Puranabazar, Dimapur.
A press release received here informed that speaking at the function, Aier stressed on the need for possessing integrity and a genuine and sincere sense of responsibility on the part of the new recruits so that they will be able to efficiently work for the upliftment of the people. He said that the new recruits should have a single mind – to work and that they should become ‘workaholics’ such that efficient service is rendered for the smooth functioning of the department and the needs of the people are genuinely addressed. Aier, citing examples from his rich experiences, encouraged the new recruits to be sincere, faithful and hardworking such that they excel in their endeavors.
Speaking as chief guest Kikheto Sema, Additional Secretary, Budget, Finance Department, Nagaland stressed that the recruits should star with humble beginnings and strive to achieve progress and excellence. Saying that the Department of Treasuries & Accounts is the ‘custodians of the state exchequer’, Kikheto said that the JAAs play a major role in enabling the smooth functioning of the department and hence, the recruits should be able to give time for the service for which they have been selected. Z. Messen, Director, Directorate of Treasuries & Accounts, Nagaland stressed on the importance of being sincere in the Induction Training as it is a mandatory training for all new JAA recruits as sanctioned by the service rules.
The programme was chaired by P. Yilobemo Lotha, Joint Director, Treasuries & Accounts Training Institute, Puranabazar, Dimapur who also delivered the Welcome address, while Temsuinla Aier, Junior Accounts Officer, Treasuries & Accounts Training Institute, Puranabazar, Dimapur delivered the vote of thanks. A total of 35 newly recruited JAAs will be undergoing a one year intensive training. These new recruits have been recently selected by the Common Recruitment Board, P&AR Department, Nagaland.
After the programme, Toshi Aier, Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner, Nagaland; Kikheto Sema, Additional Secretary, Budget, Finance Department, Nagaland and the department officers visited the newly renovated Treasuries & Accounts Training Institute Hostel, Puranabazar, Dimapur; the office of the STO, Dimapur which is temporarily located within the Institute’s campus and the STO office building under construction and interacted with the staffs.
