Kohima, April 4 (MExN): Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) organized co-ordination meeting with the PHED minister Jacob Zhimomi in the department’s conference hall here on April 3.
Zhimomi in his address insisted that sense of belongingness should be instilled to fulfill the purpose of being into the public services. Besides, he said efficiency, sincerity and dedication were required for any public servants to deliver best service to the citizens, according to a press release.
The minister also advised the department officials to maintain proper record of the office so the department will be in a position to explain in detail when any situation arises. It was further informed that he will make surprise visit and inspect the office without any information in future during the working days.
Asserting that PHE department has bigger responsibility as it concerns with human life, he urged the employees to explore all possible ways to ensure that safe drinking water, sanitation and public hygienic reached every nook and corner of the state.
The minister meanwhile assured to commission very soon augmentation of water supply to a total of 24 water scarce villages under Chiephobozou RD Block of Kohima district, Wokha Town and Kohima Town (Zarü project). Moreover, augmentation of water supply to the commercial hub of Nagaland, Dimapur, and all other districts of Nagaland will be looked into at the earliest, he promised.
Zhimomi was hopeful that sufficient safe drinking water to the public and the commissioning of the projects will solve the water scarcity problem and also online payment system in water supply will improve the revenue collection of the department.
On the funding pattern, the minister said things have changed in the centre, adding States that do not have their own resources will go through difficult times, including Nagaland, unless Prime Minister or the central government have sympathetic consideration for the State.
