Jail Colony revokes order on closure of shops

To comply with KMC schedule

  Kohima, November 13 (MExN): Jail Colony Panchayat (JCP), Kohima has revoked its order on closure of shops within its jurisdiction by 7:00 pm and has decided to comply with the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) timing.   The JCP in a press release issued by Chairman Beizo Solo and Vice- Chairman Thotso Nyekha maintained that the closure of shops order which was affected on November 1 last was “necessitated owing to so many complaints received from different quarters.”   “The restriction order was issued solely in the interest of public services and for sensitization of the colony from anti-social, public nuisances and for peaceful co-existence of the local populace,” the release said.   It has, therefore, in a meeting with the KMC Administrator and Superintendent of Police on November 13 revoked the order “with the arrival of the festive season and for the conveniences of one and all sundry.”   “Therefore, in this connection the Jail Colony Panchayat has decided to revoke the earlier order for closing down of Shops by 7:00 pm and henceforth allow the shop keepers to maintain the schedule of KMC,” the release said.   “The officers have assured to extend all logistic support for a coordinate vigilance of the colony,” it was added.
