Jal Shakti Abhiyan ‘Catch the Rain’ team visits Dimapur

Dimapur, August 6 (MExN): A two-member central team on Jal Shakti Abhiyan ‘Catch the Rain’ (JSA:CTR) visited Dimapur district from August 3 to 5. The team comprising of Central Nodal Officer, JSA: CTR & Deputy Secretary to the Government of India, New Delhi, Sukh Lal Meena and Technical Officer, JSA:CTR & Scientist-D (Hydrogeology) CGWB NER, Guwahati inspected various projects and activities undertaken by departments under JSA:CTR in Dimapur district. 

According to a DIPR report, JSA:CTR is a nationwide campaign focusing on saving and conserving rainwater with the theme ‘Catch the rain where it falls, when it falls’ from March 29 to November 30 covering both urban and rural areas of all the district in the country. 

JE, Water Resources & IC Jal Shakti Kendra Dimapur district, Er Lokhashe Swu informed that an information center called Jal Shakti Kendra has also been opened at the Office of the EE, Water Resources Department, 4th mile Chümoukedima with helpline number+ 918798060866 and email:jsadimapur@gmail.com. 

The debriefing of the schemes and activities with the District Level Committee on JSA:CTR consisting of Water Resources Department and 13 other Allied Departments by the visiting team,  was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, on August 5. Views and suggestions were exchanged to make the nationwide campaign on rainwater a success. The debriefing session was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, IAS who is also the Chairman of the District Level Committee on JSA and also the District Nodal Officer.
