DIMAPUR, APRIL 21 (MExN): Namgaukum, Chairman Jalukie Pumling NKO and Haikieng Old Jalukie Village Chairman have in a joint press communiqué expressed profound gratitude to Zeliangrong Baudi (HOHO) Nagaland for re-affirming its earlier consensus decision for establishment of Peren District HQ at Jalukie in its emergency meeting on 17th April 2006 at the residence of its President Denis Elung.
Pointing out that the Baudi has also recommended the decision arrived at to the state Government, the joint statement hoped that the latter would approve the decision of Baudi at the earliest.
“Perhaps, Jalukie was the original choice for Peren District HQ ever since 1967 for which the Sub-Divisional HQ/District HQ status was given to Jalukie keeping in mind the vast scope of future expansion and development”, it stated.
While appreciating the Baudi and also equal concerned shown by the State Government in developing this backwater district the organizations assured that it was committed to the land donated for developing of district HQ. “We also assured that unlimited area of land will be given for the district HQ even in future as required by the Government”.
Reminding that the land at the present Jalukie town was the original site of the district HQ which has been used up without proper planning, the statement pointed out that the people of the Jalukie were “offering a better site” and urged the state Government to expedite the developmental process without further delay.
