Jalukie civil society makes social initiative

Dimapur, October 17 (MExN): Jalukie’s Civil society today undertook certain significant resolutions with particular reference to local welfare administration.  The joint meeting saw organizations of the valley comprising of Jalukie Chairman Union, Jalukie Pumling Youth Organization, Jalukie Town Women Welfare Society, Jalukie Town Youth Organization, Jalukie Valley Youth Organization and Jalukie Valley Women Organization in Jalukie town hall. 

In the marathon deliberations, the house imposed prohibition on the export husk (Tampai) from Jalukie to other district. However, the same is exempted within Peren district. A fine against defaulters was set at Rs.500.

Referring to constant interference of underground elements in elections, Jalukie civil society resolved that no underground faction shall be allowed to interfere in the forthcoming election within the valley. Political candidates are also prohibited from using alcohol, liquor “to influence youth during the same within its jurisdiction.”

Jalukie’s civil organizations led by the aforementioned bodies decided to check the inflow of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor in the area in concern area from time to time. The sale of local brew and “Roxy” (local Gin) will also be checked. “If any person(s) is/are caught while the above mentioned organizations is on duty, he/she shall be penalized” the resolution stated. 

Further, registration of non-locals within the area in concern would be undertaken. For the same, all the respective youth presidents are entrusted to carry out the exercise in their respective town and villages.  

Other decisions include a ban on hunting and fishing by use of poison and “batteries.” Defaulter (s) will be fined Rs. 5000 if this decision is violated.

Any shop or pharmacy selling poison or the like, in regard to the above resolution, within its area will be penalized, the organizations stated The above resolutions have been approved and accepted by the Chairman Union Peren District on October 3, at New Jalukie Village, a joint statement of the JVYO and JVWO informed.
