James Basnet releases new album ‘Beginning’

Dimapur, November 12 (MExN): James Basnet, winner of several international awards, has released his latest Contemporary Christian Music Album titled ‘Beginning.’

His latest album ‘Beginning’ is a product of love and it is a result of a five year journey in the making. It was recorded with multi Grammy Award winner Music Producer Glenn Tabor at Gat3 Productions at Charlotte North Carolina, USA, the artist stated a press release received here.

The album features talents such as Tetseo Sisters, Nelson Rios (Music Director at Forest Hill Church), Luke Anderson (Elevation Church), Brad Hudson (Vocal Director, Elevation Church), and Jeremy Medkiff.

The song ‘Superhero’ was written for an NGO that is dedicated to rescuing trafficked children. The lyrics speak from the point of view of the child's and also from the ones rescuing them.

There is something for everyone in the album. The song 'Sold Out' is a foot tapping number which will get listeners up and dancing and is very reminiscent of the 80s funk style.

Similarly for the other songs in the album, a lot has gone into each song and their particular messaging, making it a collective album that is not only highly enjoyable but also deeply personal.

Heal our Land’
The song ‘Heal our Land’ has a special place in the artist's heart as it is a song dedicated to Nagaland. The song features Tetseo Sisters (Mütsevelü Tetseo (Mercy); Azine Tetseo (Azi); Kuvelü Tetseo (Kuku); Alüne Tetseo (Lulu) who have lent their uniquely folk sound to this soaring anthem and was recorded by Mhaseve MKT at Li Tsale Records, Kohima.

'Heal our land' was written for Nagaland during a particularly turbulent time in the State, the release stated.

“We love the message of the song. When James told us that he was writing a song for Healing of our Land, we were quick to say yes to the collaboration. We all need healing of some degree personally and our land definitely needs a thorough healing which can only be done by the Divine Healer,” Tetseo Sisters said while sharing their experience about working in the song.

Tetseo Sisters believes that this beautiful song by James Basnet is “sure to be a soothing balm to listeners all over the world and specifically to our Nagaland and we hope it brings Glory to God from whom the music comes.”

“Since the song is centred on Nagaland, we were delighted and honoured to add our Naga touch to the song. The Chokri folk part praises and testifies God as the ultimate healer and proclaims that His name be lifted higher,” they added.

Meanwhile, James Basnet hopes that “through this album people will connect and worship God more intimately and that every listener will be blessed. He hopes to hear testimonies of these songs being sung in churches all over the world.”
