Sovima, February 10 (MExN): The Tetso College community has expressed deep concern and empathy in light of the distressing incident that transpired on January 29 to one of its student Moalong Jamir, a BA Mass Communication 2nd Semester student, with law enforcement personnel. “It is extremely disconcerting to hear about the incident and we express our strong resentment at the use of excessive force on Moalong Jamir resulting in multiple serious physical injuries and mental trauma,” Dr Hewasa L Khing, Principal, Tetso College stated.
“We believe that the use of excessive force is uncalled for in any situation towards a member of the student community. Therefore, we seek intervention from the appropriate authority to ensure that such acts are prevented from further occurrence. We believe every citizen has the right for their safety and security without the need, or fear of demanding for it in adverse circumstances,” Dr Hewasa stated. “We extend our support and solidarity to Moalong Jamir towards his recovery and the family members as they pursue further inquiry into the nature of how things unfolded. We also call for a just and peaceful resolution and understanding towards the entire incident,” she asserted.
