Japfü Christian College (JCC), Kigwema hosted the graduation ceremony for the class of 2025 at its college premises on July 26. Organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the event celebrated the academic accomplishments of class of 2025.
Delivering commencement address, Minister for Higher Education and Tourism, Government of Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along urged the graduates to lead lives marked by resilience, strategic thinking, and hard work. He also praised the college for introducing the Master of Tourism and Tourism Management (MTTM) programme in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland. He remarked that Tourism holds unlimited potential in Nagaland and beyond and encouraged the students to explore this path as a career in their future.
The valedictory address was delivered by Amekali from Department of Sociology, who shared reflections on behalf of the graduating class.
In his address, Tuolie Seleyi, Chairman of the Board of Management (BOM), Japfü Christian College, congratulated the graduates and commended the faculty and staff for their unwavering commitment. As a gesture of continued support, he announced free admission to all MA courses offered by the college for its alumni, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to lifelong learning and academic excellence.
A historic moment came as the Chief Angh of Longwa addressed the gathering on behalf of the parents. Commending JCC for nurturing “God-fearing and qualified graduates,” the Angh encouraged the students to remain committed to their journey of learning and leadership.
“I hope to meet you again in Longwa — not as students, but as leaders and officials from different departments and fields.”
It may be noted that the Princess of Longwa is among the graduand of Class of 2025.
In her welcome address, Prof Visakhonü Hibo, Principal of JCC, announced that the college had produced 105 graduates from the Class of 2025.
Among them were five Nagaland University Rank Holders, 93 First Division graduates, and 12 in Second Division. She noted that the graduates are “job-ready,” equipped with intensive skill-based courses and internship certifications offered by the college. Prof Hibo also raised a significant concern regarding student laundering and urged the Government of Nagaland to uphold UGC norms to ensure quality education across the state.
During the event, the MTTM programme was launched and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Japfü Christian College and the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, with assurance from the Director as well as the Minister of Tourism & Higher education, Govt of Nagaland for a collaborative venture.
