Mokokchung, July 3 (MExN): The Japukong Senso Senden (JSS) has extended support to the appeal made by the Nagaland Foothill Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) and urged the state government to take utmost concern and expedite the Foothill Road Project without any further delay. It also appealed to take up the project under NEC programme as resolved by the Government of Nagaland.
JSS President Imdongtangba and General Secretary, Toshisangba in a press release stated that even after 50 years of statehood Nagaland still lacks its own foothill road and thus, lots of untold and unheard hardships are faced by the rural people, especially those living in state border areas.
Asserting that the foothill road will definitely generate revenue and boost up the economy of the state and its people, JSS said, “today the rural Naga people have its own Tea Garden, Areca Nut, Sandalwood, Coffee, Cardamom, King Chilly, Horticulture and Agri products to the urban areas.”
Therefore, it fervently appealed to the Government to give utmost importance to Foothill Road Project as “it is definitely going to benefit the people in many ways.”
