Jalukie, September 24 (MExN): The Jalukie ‘B’ Village Youth Organisation (JBYO) has condemned a reported incident in which unidentified armed individuals were allegedly seen near the residence of R John Zeliang, a resident of Jalukie ‘B’ Village in Peren District, during late-night hours.
The JBYO in a press release said the presence of armed persons near a civilian residence has caused concern among family members, neighbours and the wider community, and that it views any act creating fear or disturbing public peace with utmost seriousness.
The organisation urged the Police Department and district administration to conduct a fair, impartial and thorough investigation and take appropriate action as per law to maintain public confidence and ensure citizens’ safety.
The JBYO asserted it will not tolerate any act of intimidation, fear-mongering, coercion or threat against any resident, and cautioned those responsible, and anyone contemplating similar acts, to immediately desist.
It appealed to residents to remain calm, avoid speculation and cooperate with investigating agencies, while expressing solidarity with Zeliang and his family and reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding peace and security in the village.
