DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 6 (MExN): The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) has called off its ongoing pen down and tools down strike following the Nagaland government’s decision to revisit the issue of IAS induction of non-NCS officers.
In a statement issued on November 6, the JCC said it has deliberated on the press release issued by the state government on the same day regarding the induction matter and has decided “to acknowledge the decision of the State Cabinet and call off the ongoing pen down strike and tools down strike with immediate effect.”
As stated in the government’s press release, the State Cabinet had decided “to revisit the decisions taken on the matter so as to arrive at an informed decision regarding the eligibility criteria for induction of non-NCS into IAS after taking into account the views of all stakeholders.”
The JCC, which comprises the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA), Forum of Naga Senior Government Officers (FONESA), Nagaland In-service Doctors’ Association (NIDA), Nagaland Secretariat Service Association (NSSA), and Nagaland Finance & Accounts Service Association (NF&ASA), said it firmly believes that the government “will abide by its decision in letter and in spirit and uphold meritocracy.”
The statement was issued by JCC Convener Kitto Swu.
