Dimapur, March 2 (MExN): Joint Committee on Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) on Monday said that the “knee jerk reaction” of the District Administration to conduct an Inner-Line Permit (ILP) drive on February 27, “resulted in pressing the panic button among the non-Naga communities in Nagaland.”

“Whereas, the strengthened system for implementation of ILP has not been finalized, it is questionable under what provision of law has the fines been imposed,” the JCPI said in its press release.

The JCPI view with severity those vested interest groups and individuals having sinister motive to usurp the proper and effective implementation of ILP in Dimapur and will be made answerable in due course of time, it said while adding that it would “ensure the effective implementation of ILP with December 1, 1963 as cut-off year.”
