DIMAPUR, AUGUST 29 (MExN): The Janata Dal (United), Nagaland on Wednesday said it strongly opposes any political party or parties whose action and practices infringes into the religious sentiments of the people of Nagaland as well as perforates into the cultures and traditions of the Naga society.
In apparent reference to the issue arising out the immersion of the ashes of former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee by the BJP in Nagaland, a press communiqué by media cell JD (U) said the will and welfare of the people should be supreme and above any political ideology or even directive of high command.
The JD (U) Nagaland also made it clear that although it is a part of the Peoples’ Democratic Alliance (PDA) of Nagaland, yet, it shall not in any circumstance(s) compromise on the issue of the 3 Cs, i.e., crime, corruption and communalism, no matter what the costs may be.
It vowed to stand against any authority, individual or party that harbors the 3Cs and endeavor to keep Nagaland free of these 3Cs. The JD (U) has appealed to the people of Nagaland to stand in support when such issue is raised by the party in days to come.
