Dimapur, June 7 (MExN): Following the ultimatum served by the Lotha Hoho to the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to ensure that contractors adhere to specifications in road works, the JD (U) Nagaland has extended its support.
JD (U) Nagaland, State Secretary Thangliba and General Secretary Kitoho S Rotokha in a press release said that the demand of Lotha Hoho to uphold quality and specification as per the contract agreement should be strictly followed by M/S C.S Infra-construction Limited. It alleged that “NHIDCL have not completed the assigned road contracts causing many inconveniences to the people.” It also mentioned that over the past decades, large projects have been allotted to outside companies who have never indented to maintain quality work but to extract the sanction amount from the Ministry.
The JD (U) in this regard, impressed upon the state government to take appropriate measures with the authority concerned to make sure that the companies allotted to execute road constructions in the state fully comply with the contract agreement. “The state government being the guarantor of such project implementation is equally responsible to the people of the state,” it added.
